Keeping you up to date with your child’s progress

Some of the main ways we communicate with parents and carers about their child’s progress are explained below.


Day-to-day progress

Follow the day-to-day progress of your child on our My Ed app which will show you your child’s timetable, attendance and their latest achievements and behaviour information.

You can also use the Class Charts website to see this in a visual way.

You will be able to see if your child has received their full amount of achievement points or if they have any C1, C2, C3 or C4 incidents.


Help with homework

Homework is mainly set on Google Classroom. This means you can log in and support your child to plan, organise and complete their work.  Homework can also be found through Class Charts.

Please make it clear who you are addressing the enquiry to and what it is about. We will forward the email to the best member of staff to deal with it then. Please be aware this email is only monitored Monday – Friday, 8am – 4pm, term time only.


Reports

We send out reports via MyEd.

Our reports show you:

  • Whether your child is progressing as expected;
  • Their average in assessments compared to the year;
  • Attitude to learning;
  • Attendance.

Reports will be followed up with parents’ evenings for each year group. The dates for these here.


Parents’ Evenings

Once during the academic year, you will be invited to attend a parents’ evening and meet your child’s teachers.

At primary school, you may be used to meeting just one teacher but at secondary school you will need to talk to many teachers.

Most parents/carers attend these with their child. This is a chance to discuss how well your child is doing in each subject, and what they can do to progress even further.
