2023 marks my fourth year as Principal at Co-op Academy Walkden and I am incredibly proud and privileged to be leading the amazing young people who walk through our doors everyday. In my 25 year career, I have gained a wide experience of teaching and leading, however having grown up in the area, I also feel a deep sense of purpose as Principal of this Academy. This community is special to me and I strongly believe that the children of Walkden and the surrounding areas deserve a school which is second to none. 

At Co-op Academy Walkden, our staff are dedicated to providing the very best experience for all pupils. Our dedicated team of teachers and support staff are committed to providing an inspiring and ambitious curriculum and a nurturing learning environment which enables all of our pupils to thrive.

We are inclusive and ambitious for all. We strongly believe that our focus on high standards, underpinned by a deep sense of care, are crucial in giving all of our young people the very best chances of success in the future.

We have a great range of extra-curricular opportunities, including our sports teams, musical and theatre opportunities, through to our well developed Combined Cadets and Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme. We are forward thinking and always looking for new ways to develop our learners, both inside and outside the classroom. We want our students to become well-rounded individuals, prepared for future life.
