How we can support you and your child

As we approach the end of the first half-term, I wanted to flag to you some links and support that may be useful.

Free School Meals

Apply for free school meals - GOV.UK

Your child may be able to get free school meals if you get any of the following:

  • Income Support
  • income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
  • income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • the guaranteed element of Pension Credit
  • Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
  • Working Tax Credit run-on - paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
  • Universal Credit - if you apply on or after 1 April 2018 your household income must be less than £7,400 a year (after tax and not including any benefits you get)

In addition, if your child is eligible for free school meals, there may be additional support available. The links to other support offers are on the Free School meals page.

Uniform Support

We have an extensive stock of uniform in the academy. If your child is in need of any items of uniform please ask them to speak with their Head of Year and we will be happy to support or alternatively you can email me catherine.earley@coopacademies.co.uk.

Attendance Matters

Finally, we want every child to attend school and to achieve at least 95% attendance. Below is some information showing the impact of poor attendance on lost learning.

Unless your child is seriously ill, please send them to school so that they can have the best chance of success.
